Hi, I'm Julie Iverson of Homespun Shelties.
My first Sheltie came to me while I was attending veterinary school
at Michigan State University in 1981. I was looking for a smaller dog
that I could learn obedience with and through my research decided upon
a Sheltie. I wanted a sable female but none were available so I ended up
with a tri male. I couldn't have been more pleased with Andy. He was
a great companion and also became class mascot as he attended many
study sessions and other activities. We did very well competing in
obedience as well.
I moved to a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA in 1984 to begin my Veterinary
career and met my mentor Rusty Cromer of Merlyn Kennels when
she brought her shelties into the clinic. At that time I was still competing
in obedience and really didn't know much about the conformation
world. She invited me to join Three Rivers Shetland Sheepdog Club
of Greater Pittsburgh. I attended my first national in 1999 and by
that time was enamored with conformation as well as performance.
Although I have had sables in the past I currently have AOAC's
(any other acceptable color).
Please enjoy visiting my Shelties!
